My main area is medical education specializing in performance assessment, program evaluation, curriculum development and distance learning.

I am also the (former) founding editor of an open access electronic journal in medical education and have published extensively in the area of open access publication including the recent publication of a book on developing open access journals. I was a founding board member of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA)

I am currently engaged in researching the growth of open access, methods/sources of payment for article processing charges, and attitudes of authors and librarians toward open access.

Specialties: Evaluation, statistical programming and analysis, trainee assessment, development of distance learning programs. I am also a competent programmer mainly working in PHP/MySQL.



Doctorate: Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a focus on educational measurement and evaluation from Michigan State University
Graduate: M.A. in Education Psychology with a major in Statistics and Research Design
Bachelors: B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University
