BIO

Dr. Ana Capatina-Rata MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine and Internal Medicine Clerkship Director, Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, at Ascension-Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. She also has teaching appointments at Wayne State University and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Capatina-Rata is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. A graduate of ‘Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy’, Dr. Capatina-Rata completed her internal medicine residency at Providence Hospital, Southfield, MI and her fellowship in geriatrics at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI. She has over 14 years of experience as a physician and educator.

She is a member of the Sepsis Committee, Internal Medicine Residency Clinical Competency Committee and Internal Medicine Medical Education Committee at Ascension-Providence Hospital in Michigan as well as a member of the MSU Internal Medicine Clerkship Directors Committee. Dr. Capatina-Rata is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Capatina-Rata has a special interest in women’s health and preventative medicine. She has contributed more than 22 published abstracts at national and international scientific meetings and has published 3 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
