This expendable fund is used at the discretion of the Chair to fund department-related activities.

This expendable fund supports cardiovascular research in the Department of Medicine.

This expendable fund supports breast cancer research in the Department of Medicine.

Fellow research projects, small clinical research projects that take place directly at the cancer center, and support for continued education and advocacy through Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology (MSHO). Examples include MSHO dues as well as research conferences through MSHO.

Established by long-time Lansing-area physician Frederick Swartz and his wife, Blanch, this fund supports the position of a faculty member in the Department of Medicine whose research and teaching focus on internal medicine and geriatric medicine.

Established by family and friends in memory of the founding chair of the Department of Medicine, funds will be used to support an annual lecture in memory of Dr. Scott N. Swisher, Jr.

Funds will be used to support the Division of Cardiology as determined by the Chair of the Department of Medicine in consultation with the Chief of the Division of Cardiology, which may include, but is not limited to a lecture, research, faculty support, etc.

Expenditures from the Endowment will be used to support the scholarly mission of the Department, in accordance with the requirements set forth in these Guidelines. Initially, it is expected that the fund will be used to establish a lecture in honor of Dr. Murray.
