BIO

Dr. Ade Olomu MD, MS, FACP, is the Blanch B. & Frederick C Swartz Endowed Professor of Medicine. Dr. Olomu is a health services researcher and director of the Office-GAP Program, designed to improve cardiovascular disease (CVD) outcomes for diabetic and CVD patients. Dr. Olomu is nationally and internationally recognized for her scholarly activities and won multiple local, national and international awards. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Olomu have been a PI on projects funded by NIH, BCBSM Foundation, Agency for Health Care and Research Quality (AHRQ) Career Development Award, and Michigan Health Endowment Fund. She is a fellow of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM).

Research Interest: 1) Behavioral Interventions and Implementation Research. My research goal is to develop and test innovative interventions that incorporate evidence-based behavioral theories to help adults prevent and manage chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes in outpatient settings. 2) Translating scientific evidence into clinical practice by implementing evidence-based care model - Office-Guidelines Applied to Practice (Office-GAP) Program. 3) Health Disparity Research in Cardiovascular Disease. 4) Improving Patient care using mobile Health Technology (mHealth). Dr. Olomu has mentored many students, resident doctors, and junior faculty over the years. She has published her research work in several reputable peer review journals and written many book chapters.
